POVERTY ALLEVIATION STRATEGY THROUGH ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT IN LACKWARD AREAS: CASE STUDY IN MELUNG VILLAGE, KEDUNGBANTENG DISTRICT, BANYUMAS DISTRICT
Abstract
Poverty is one of the complex social problems and has a broad impact in various countries, including in Indonesia. Melung Village, located in Kedungbanteng District, Banyumas Regency, is one of the underdeveloped areas that still faces major challenges in overcoming poverty. This study aims to analyze poverty alleviation strategies through economic empowerment in Melung Village. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with various stakeholders in Melung Village, as well as direct observation and documentation studies. The results of the analysis show that poverty alleviation strategies through economic empowerment in Melung Village include developing local potential, training and skills education, as well as strengthening social capital and cooperation networks. This economic empowerment has had a positive impact in increasing the income and welfare of local communities, although they are still faced with various obstacles such as access to markets and capital resources. This research contributes to a further understanding of poverty alleviation efforts in disadvantaged areas through economic empowerment, as well as their implications in formulating more inclusive and sustainable development policies.
