Accessibility of Gedong GINCU Mango Farmers to Formal and Non-Formal Financial Institutions (Case Study of Gapoktan Sami Mulya, Sedong District, Cirebon Regency)
Abstract
Abstract : This research aims to 1) Know the characteristics of gedong gincu mango farmers and farming businesses in Sedong District, Cirebon Regency. 2) Analyze the accessibility of gedong gincu mango farmers to formal and non-formal financial institutions. 3) Analyze the relationship between the characteristics of gedong gincu mango farmers and farmers' access to formal and non-formal credit sources. The research design used in this research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. This research uses data collection techniques through questionnaires, observations and interviews. The results of the research show that the age characteristics of gedong gincu mango farmers are in the productive age of 15-64 years as much as 80%, the level of education of farmers is still relatively low because the majority have only reached elementary school at 38%, even though based on experience they already have good farming experience for > 20 years. 48%. Farmers' accessibility to financial institutions is still low, this is because farmers' education levels are still low, farmers do not have the required collateral and bank credit procedures are very complicated for farmers. The relationship between characteristics and accessibility of gedong gincu mango farmers in accessing formal and non-formal financial institutions is quite good based on internal and external factors, namely farmer characteristics, education and collateral. External factors include credit scheme requirements as well as policies and socialization of credit programs.
